Warmest greeting to one and all from the Main Event Stewards for the Estrella War XXIX, Mistress Tyock MacKay of Marwode (Tigra), OP, Baroness Magdalen Venturosa, OP, and Viscountess Victoria of the Vales of Barnsdale, OL, OP. 

Last Estrella War, XXVIII, suffered through one of the hottest Marchs on record for the United States dating back to 1895. (over 15,000 warm temperatures records were broken in all). We have wonderful news, Estrella War XXIX dates have been rolled back to February 26, 2013 through March 4, 2013! Yea and there was much rejoicing! The site remains at the beautiful Schnepf Farms.

We have had to make a few concessions and logistical changes in order to accommodate Schnepf's Peach Blossom Festival that overlaps our war by a few days. Mostly it affects traffic flow and site set up, both easily managed.

Estrella XXIX has a new vision, our focus will be on esprit de corps shared by all who live this dream. From the brotherhood of those marshaled for battle, to the fellowship of those who display mastery of artisanship or skill and ingenuity in the sciences, and to the ones who give of themselves tirelessly. And of course, many modes of merriment that promote camaraderie for all who attend, because a war should have a few more gentler pursuits. 

We have many exciting new ideas, additions and activities planned. For example, in 2013 we are creating a medieval town square. This square will be centrally located and will host the merchants, food venders, special events, courts, and all the Estrella War service groups (Herald's Point, The Watch, Volunteer's Point, Chirurgeon, etc.).  

Our deepest thanks to Lady Rowan Bridget Blackmore and all those who served as staff and all the volunteers who helped on site for last years war. It is never an easy, but always a rewarding, task to be the first persons to break-in a new war site.
