Equestrian Activities
Equestrian activities are permitted in the designated equestrian area at Estrella War, and usually include several days of trail riding and some marshaled events. Attendees wishing to participate in the marshaled events must have a current equestrian authorization card from an SCA kingdom, and abide by SCA equestrian rules. A limited number of equestrian authorizations are usually done on site.
Rental Horses:
It is not yet determined whether rental horses will be available at Estrella War XXVII, or the rates that would apply for that service. Please check this page for further information in the coming months.
Equestrian Services:
The following equestrian services are generally available at Estrella War (watch this page for additional information):
- Horse pens may be reserved and rented for those who bring their own horses. Reservations must be made and pre-paid before the event. (Instructions for payment are provided when you register.)
- Camping is provided at the equestrian camping area, when reserved prior to arrival. Attendees bringing or renting horses are given priority for the available camping space.
The above services can be arranged by contacting the
Equestrian coordinator.
Special Requirements/Restrictions:
- Horses are not allowed in designated camping areas, battlefields, or on Merchant’s Row. All livestock (including horses, ponies, miniature horses, goats, pigs, etc.) are restricted to the Equestrian area and designated trails. This is a site owner restriction and will be strictly enforced.
- The State of Arizona requires that anyone bringing a horse into Arizona must have a current health certificate and Coggins Test for each horse.
If you have questions about Equestrian activities at Estrella War, or wish to assist with (or sponsor) Equestrian activities at the event, please contact the
Equestrian coordinator.
More equestrian activities will be added to the schedule. Please check this page for updated information.
